TECHNICAL SALES - Meat Seasonings/Ingredients


The Technical Sales Specialist will take ownership of the R&D activities and onsite applications of a novel technology in sausage manufacturing and will be directly involved selling to customers. The Technical Sales Specialist will striving to meet customers` product and operational expectations, the Technical Sales Specialist will primarily be interacting with the customer in both a technical service and technical sales role.

Key Accountabilities

  • 50% domestic travel with 5-10% international travel (Canada, Mexico, Europe).

  • Relocation to Boston, MA area (relocation assistance available depending on situation)

  • Collaborate with internal and customers` sales teams to provide technical support, clarify product requirements and support all product development activities.

  • Directly accountable to sell to established customers, seasonings, technical ingredients and equipment used in meat/sausage processing

  • Conduct product evaluation of competitive products.

  • Lead product development projects including: Pilot plant trials, plant trials, preparation of samples for customers and presentation, coordination, and distribution of samples.

  • Develop standard operating procedures as well specifications critical to process and product quality.

  • Closely work with Quality Assurance and train operators on monitoring of key process parameters.

  • Ensure that developed products comply with government regulations and certification requirements.

  • Support new plant start-up and commissioning activities.

  • Interact with all internal departments including production, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, distribution, sales/marketing, as well as with similar customer departments.

  • Maintain R&D areas and fulfill other related duties.


Bachelor of Science Degree, with a specialization in Meat Science, Food Science, or related field, Master of Science Degree is a plus

Minimum of 2+ years of experience in product development, QA or Production working with meat/sausage, seasonings, spices or similar ingredients/applications

Experience using Salesforce is preferred

Sales or customer interacting background required

Meat/Pork industry exposure required

Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint)

Organizational and project management skills to manage projects from concept to market

Willing to relocate within a few hours of Boston MA (Relocation is available)

Willing to work from home office with extensive travel (zoom calls and customer phone meetings)
