Sr Business Development Manager – Dairy Ingredients/Proteins Location: WI


Our client is a well known dairy manufacturer and an industry leader in the manufacturing of specialty dairy Ingredients and Dairy Proteins sold to food, beverage and pharmaceutical companies across the world. Due to growth, they are seeking an experienced Sr Business Development Manager – Diary Ingredients/Protein for North America.


As Sr Business Development Manager Nutritional Dairy Ingredients, your role will be to manage and grow the company’s ingredient and protein group serving the food and beverage segment throughout North America. You will be directly responsible for revenue growth and margin levels within this market segment. You will work in close collaboration with the company’s sales, marketing and R&D teams, across several business units, to continuously strengthen the company’s position within the nutritional food and beverage segment. This role will be entrepreneurial and customer-focused and will require executive level involvement both within the organization and with the company’s key customers. This position is based in Central WI and relocation is available .


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the North-American segment strategy in partnership with the sales, marketing and R&D teams and lead execution.

  • Manage the North-American marketing mix and optimize product positioning to increase revenue growth and segment profitability.

  • Monitor the evolution of sales, cost and profitability for all ingredients within the health portfolio. Proactively take necessary actions: targeted sales & marketing campaigns, re-launch, range out, etc…

  • Provide training to the sales team on relevant products and perform joint visits with regional account managers to initiate new business.

  • Develop sales and marketing tools that can be used by the sales teams to promote and market the company’s health ingredients in the functional food segment, such as promotional material, presentations, pricing tools, competitive information, etc.

  • Develop new product concepts in partnership with the divisional R&D teams and oversee execution of such projects.

  • Support Marketing Communications with editorial work for segment related articles, brochures, web-pages, as well as any other type of internal and external communications.

REQUIREMENTS


  • MUST have a BA/BS degree in business and/or in nutritional science, food science, biology, chemistry or any other relevant scientific or technical degrees. MBA would be helpful

  • Must have at least 5+years’ experience working with food ingredients in B2B sales, marketing, business development etc. within the food and beverage industry.

  • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit with high levels of autonomy, proactivity and creativity.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to travel a few times/yr. .

  • Must have a true passion for business development and market penetration.

  • Must have outstanding interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiating skills.

  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work in cross-functional teams in international and multi-cultural environments.
